Welcome to Lake Light Sculpture Exhibition Entry Form 2019

This year we are excited to announce a new indoor exhibition to our event in addition to our ever-popular outdoor lake side exhibition.  This new indoor exhibition is tailored to allow us to display smaller or more delicate sculptures that are best displayed indoors on a plinth for visitor enjoyment.

Entry Fees

Entry to our event which includes both exhibitions is $40 for a single entry and $80 for multiple entries regardless of which exhibition or combination of.

Terms and Conditions of Entry

Please read the terms and conditions below and click submit for your entry to be processed.
Lake Light Sculpture (LLS) Incorporated is a not for profit association and is managed by the Lake Light Sculpture Volunteer Management Committee.

By submitting your entry, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of the 2019 Lake Light Sculpture exhibition.

• LLS is open to all types and forms of sculptures.
• All entries must be submitted on the 2019 LLS entry form.
• Multiple entries will be accepted, but need to be on separate entry forms.
• Acceptance of entries is at the discretion of the Volunteer Management Committee.
• Sculptures must be fully installed by 3pm on Thursday 18th April 2019 before judging commences at 4:00pm.
• The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will entered into.
• Late entries will not be considered.
• Site allocation is limited and allocation will be decided by the Artistic Director and the Volunteer Management Committee.

ENTRY FEES
• Entry fees are not refundable.
• Entry fees can be paid by cash, cheque or direct deposit. Cheques must be made out to Lake Light Sculpture Incorporated. Direct deposits must have the artist name as the reference

• Please supply a copy of the EFT direct deposit receipt if payment is made by this method.

JUDGING AND AWARDS
• All entrants are invited to the Opening and Awards Ceremony 10am Good Friday at which winning entries will be announced.
• Judging will commence Thursday 18th April 2019 at 4:00pm.
• All prizes are non-negotiable and the judge’s decision is final.
All prize money is subject to change at the discretion of the LLS Committee and artists will be advised by email.

SALES
• Advise a nominated price if you wish to sell your sculpture. Minimum sale price $50. POA or EOI will not be accepted.
• All sale prices of works will be deemed absolute and final from the date entries are accepted.
• 25% commission applies to all sales from the event, including sales on acquisitive prizes, and for a period of 3 months after the event.
• Multiple sculptures must have identifying numbers and pricing. Tags to facilitate this are located at the Exhibition Entry Tent. Please liaise with the committee to obtain a numbering sequence which correlates to our sales register.
• No independent transactions will be made by the artist.
• We ask that you remain contactable during the entire event in case the committee needs to contact you regarding your sculpture sale or an enquiry.

SITES
Power is only provided in specific areas. These areas include the full length of the exhibition area on the southern (town) side of the path and the large flat area at the western (caravan park) end of the event. The power usage is limited to 200 watts per site.
• Nominate 2 site zones on the map and indicate if power is required.
• Sculptures should be viewable from the pathway and not require viewers to walk off the path.
• There is no guarantee that nominated sites will be allocated or that power will be available. There is power available for 40 of the 60 sites.
• Sites are in zones. Multiple sculptures can fit within certain zones, size permitting.
• If you require a specific site or location, please include a photo of the site so that you are allocated the correct site in the correct zone. Please phone (text preferred during working hours) Ben Eyles on 0410 583 769 or email info@lakelightsculpture.com.au for further site information.

SAFETY & DISPLAY
Applicants should consider:
• possible site locations
• lighting requirements ensuring electrical equipment is suitable for outdoor use
• ease of installation and removal
• impact on the environment
• safety of viewers – no sharp protruding edges, a secure base
• extreme weather conditions, high winds
• restrictions and amendments to sites may occur due to safety and/or environmental reasons
• works considered unsafe or inappropriate will be deemed ineligible
• To encourage visitors to obtain an event catalogue, no interpretative or additional signage is allowed as part of the sculpture display. The catalogue will contain the Artist’s Statement. The site will only display the catalogue number, name of sculpture & sale price. Please provide this information in your entry submission. Note, Artist Statement should not be longer than 25 words.

LIGHTING
• Peripheral exhibition lighting will be set by the Site Manager and or site electrician if requested; however, your input into lighting your work is vital as to how your work is viewed during the evening. Please take some time to consider this and to provide the appropriate lighting equipment for this.
• If you require LLS to supply lights, you are ineligible for the Illumination Award.
• Please consider other artists when designing your lighting. Too much light will be considered ‘light pollution’ and will have to be reduced. This will be at the discretion of the Committee. Contact Ben Eyles on 0410 583 769 if you wish to discuss this further.
• Artists who provide their own lighting for their sculpture must contact Mark Ovens of No Stress Electrical on 0418 401 289 when submitting their entry form to obtain clearance for their lighting requirements.
• Electrical components must not exceed 200 watts and must be tag tested by a licensed electrician to Australian electrical standards and be suitable for outdoor use. Please note: No power is provided during daylight hours.
• Sculptures utilising any lights provided by LLS will NOT be eligible for the $5,000 Illumination Award. The Committee reserves the right to illuminate entries after judging has concluded if we believe this will enhance the exhibition to the viewing public &/or for reasons of safety.

TRANSPORTATION, INSTALLATION, DE-INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
• Installation of sculptures will take place on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April. There will be access to a HIAB crane on Wednesday 17th April only. Sculptures must be fully installed by 3pm on Thursday 29th March ready for judging at 4pm. If the hiab crane is required for installation, it must be organised and booked the week prior. Contact Ben Eyles on 0410 583 769 to make these arrangements. Please be realistic about the time and assistance you require installing and removing your artwork. De-installation will be from 12 noon on Monday 22nd April 2019. All artworks must be removed from the site by no later than 5pm. No security is employed after 4pm Monday 22nd April 2019.
• Artists are responsible for;
o Transportation of sculptures to and from the exhibition site, installation, and the removal of all packaging and associated material,
o Maintaining the sculpture in a presentable condition throughout the duration of the exhibition,
o Considering others and the environment and landscape when driving to and from installation sites.

SECURITY AND INSURANCE
• LLS employs a Security Company that patrol the exhibition between 8pm and 8am from Wednesday Wednesday 17th to Monday 22nd April 2019.
• Between 8am and 8pm, the exhibition is patrolled by the LLS Committee and volunteers.
• No security will be provided after 4pm on Monday 22nd April 2019.
• LLS Committee will take precautions to minimise the risk to the sculptures exhibited.
• It is a condition of exhibition that the artist accepts full liability for theft of and/or damage to their exhibit.

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All risk and responsibility for sculptures remain with the artist at all times.
• Artists agrees not to issue press releases without the written consent of the committee of Lake Light Sculpture Jindabyne.
• By signing the entry form, artists give the Committee of Lake Light Sculpture Jindabyne exclusive right to reproduce images of submitted work for any purpose, including but not limited to the exhibition brochure, website promotion of the event and promotional material for future exhibitions.
• Sculptures cannot affect or damage the environment or surrounding areas in any way.
• All instructions and requests from the LLS Committee, Police, Council Officers and pubic authorities must be complied with.
• All artist disputes will be adjudicated by three committee members before a decision is made. This decision is then final and no further discussion or correspondence will be entered into.
• All transactions are to occur in Australian Dollars.
• Should you wish to use images from the exhibition for whatever purpose, the Committee of Lake Light Sculpture Jindabyne must be notified prior to the use of the images. When images are used, Lake Light Sculpture Jindabyne must have credit.
• All entrants must be contactable throughout the exhibition period.
• It is a condition of entry that all artists and/or their representatives conduct themselves in a respectful manner at all times in conversing or corresponding with the Volunteer Management Committee, either prior to or during the exhibition.
If any misconduct occurs, including (but not limited to):
i. Conduct that may be reasonably perceived as harassing, intimidating, abusive or physically or emotionally threatening;
ii. Conduct which fails to satisfactorily comply with reasonable instruction given by a Committee member or members;
iii. Conduct which in any way impedes the satisfactory operation of the event;
iv. Conduct which is deceptive or dishonest
the artist will be dismissed from the exhibition forthwith with no further discussion or correspondence being entered into.
